Real Madrid left back Marcelo to miss weekend clash against At. Madrid through injury

Brazilian international Marcelo will miss this weekend's  clash against Atletico Madrid after failing to recover from the hip injury he suffered in training Yesterday.

The Real Madrid full back was not present at the session with the rest of the Real squad at the club's Valdebebas facilities  earlier this morning and has now been left off the 19-man squad list for the game at the Bernabeu on Saturday afternoon.

Arbeloa has also been omitted from the list because of his own fitness concerns. It means that either Danilo or Carvajal is likely to be asked to fill in on the left for this most important of fixtures tomorrow.

Real Madrid trail their city rivals Athletico Madrid by a single points in the Spanish league table with just 13 games of the 2015/16 season remaining. Zidane's team are a further nine points back from Barcelona at the top and cannot afford to drop any more points.

The los blancos have drawn three and won five of their last eight League games, while Barcelona have collected maximum points in the same period. Atletico Madrid go into Saturday's derby having won just two of the last five in the la Liga.
